Team Bones came across the final while out picking off a few other finds. It was very visible and we literally had me thinking coords for reflections from GC.com were way off. So we rehid somewhat better and a bit more concealed and will log it as a find when we find the first legs of this multi. Bones

Well, I got the FTF, but did I earn it? You be the judge.

After receiving a good hint regarding Leg 3, I biked out here again for another wack at it. And, once again, I couldn't find it.

Giving up in despair after 20 minutes or so, I decided to just go biking along the towpath for the fun of it. As I pedaled along in a certain direction, I thought to myself, "Now, why did Borst pick that particular spot for Leg 3? Why couldn't he have plopped it into a nice area like this one that I'm passing by?"

Just as I had that thought, I spied something. Something that a passing muggle would never notice, but which had me bringing my bike to a screeching halt, tires spitting gravel all over the path. I got off to investigate. It can't be. Is there a cache there? Maybe it's a letterbox. Maybe it's an old archived cache. Is it.....? Yep, it is. Opencaching.us. Tow Path Multi. I found the final.

So, I don't know if I earned this smiley or not, but I'll take it. I went caching, and I found the cache. I may never find Leg 3, but I can live with that. Thanks for the challenge and the adventure!

Couldn't resist the temptation to return for another hour of fruitless searching for leg 3. I managed to avoid most thorns and prickers this time, but added a wet foot to my list of mishaps.

Sorry, Borst, I can't give you any thumbs up for this one. Legs 1 & 2 were painful to find and retrieve, and I abandoned the hunt for leg 3 after a long frustrating search that had me cursing freely under my breath. With several scratches, puncture wounds, and a few new rips in my geocaching shirt, I was glad to hop on my bike and head for friendlier grounds.

Good luck, fellow cachers. Whoever gets the FTF here is gonna earn it.

Well...you know what they say about Karma.  We spent about 30 minutes looking around all sorts of places for leg one.  No luck here.  We did enjoy the 2+ mile round trip walk though.  I am sure we'll be back sometime soon to give it another go.  TFTC!

I wondered why the Orangeport parking lot was so crowded this afternoon. Once I got my bike out onto the towpath I realised that I was pedaling into the middle of a running event. Lots and lots of runners, staggering along, sweating and gasping for breath. I abandoned any idea of geocaching in this crowd, so I switched off the GPS and just went biking to Day Rd and back. I'll return to give this cache a whirl on a quieter day.

I see atmo had the same problems as me, although he must have been there earlier. By the time I got here, there were only random stragglers bringing up the rear of the race. I dragged the bike out for only the second time this year and made the ride over to the firs leg. Looked around for a good 15 minute or so, but couldn't find the first leg. There was another spot I wanted to check, but I had shorts on and there were lots of thorns in the way. Even with this DNF, it still ended up being a great OCUS day. I'll be back another time to try again.
