Your task is to visit the Stone Tower Lookout located in Allegany State Park.The Tower was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during their encampment in the Park. Much of the Parks infrastructure was completed by company,s 249, 3216 and 1231-V during the years 1933 -1942.
The Tower was completed in 1934. The area is accessible year round and is located near the cross country ski trails. There is an entry fee from May to October. Allegany has 65,000 acres for your enjoyment. Miles of hiking trails, including the North Country and Conservation Trail of the FLT. The park offers 424 tent and RV sites. 375 Cabins and Cottages many are available for use during the winter so you can enjoy cross country skiing and snowmobiling. In 2007 Allegany State Park was voted a top amazing spot in the Nation.
