Mrs T. and I had some business to attend to in Xenia today, I had planned on doing some geocaching afterwards, saw this cache pop up, and brought along a laptop "just in case."

After finishing with our other tasks, we came to the appointed place where it didn't take very long to find what we were looking for, but did take a bit of finesse before the USB stick was finally in hand. Mrs T. looked at me and said, "You're not going to plug that thing into our laptop, are you?"

I carefully examined the object, paused for a few seconds, then "went for it." Read both files, added to the log, then replaced the stick for the next finder.

This is the first time I've encountered a hide like this----my feelings on it are mixed, as I can see pros as well as cons.

On the "pro" side:

- It makes for a VERY legible log
- I can make a copy of the log for my own perusal (and I did).
- It make use of modern technology

On the "con" side:

- You have to bring a USB device (laptop, etc) to log the find
- You have to have a decent place to use your equipment
(this hide fits the bill)
- If the USB stick gets wet or corrodes internally, it may short out
and thereby short out/harm someone's laptop (we worried about that)

I guess time will tell as to the eventual popularity of this type of hide. I had fun with it, but then I knew to bring a laptop with me----something I rarely do when geocaching. But that's just me---I'll be interested to see what others think.

This was a different caching experience----Thanks!
