Visit this and other buildings and ruins in Old Baylor Park. Today, only the columns of the main building and the ruins of the stone kitchen remain of the Baylor Female College Campus. There are several historical markers here. Come in the spring and you will be treated to fields of Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes. Bring a picnic and sit under old Live Oak trees that may have been visited by one of Independence's most famous residents, Sam Houston. At the time this was posted, there were 2 letterboxes in this park and my son is adding another traditional micro. Enjoy Independence!
This is some good information on Independence and it's history at http://www.texasescapes.com/TOWNS/Independence/IndependenceTexas.htm
To log this virtual cache, you will need the vertical number in green on the highway sign across the street (just on the other side of the stone wall)
Congrats to AgNav and ChurchLady59 for the co-FTF!
